Birdwatching Coolart

Coolart is the Mornington Peninsula’s top birdwatching destination, with over 160 species recorded on this 87.5 hectare estate. The typical expert birder would find around 60 species here on a casual Saturday in November. How many will you see?

Visit the BirdLife stand on Saturday and have a chat about the local birds. You’ll be given an identification sheet to see what you can tick off the list by looking carefully around the gardens and wetlands. Bonus points if you can spot the elusive and cryptic resident Lewin’s Rail.

Free – all ages.

Any time Saturday or Sunday*

*Note: BirdLife may not be present on Sunday but you can still collect your picture sheets from the welcome table.
