Chris Doughty

Chris was born in northern England, where he developed a keen interest in birds and has been birding for as long as he can remember.  He has now been living in Melbourne Australia for over 50 years.  He founded Peregrine Bird Tours in 1984 and has led over 240 birding tours throughout the length and breadth of Australia, and to every corner of the globe.  Chris is acknowledged as one of the world’s most experienced bird tour leaders.  He has observed more than 830 species of birds in Australia and its territories and has field experience with over 8,400 species of birds throughout the world.

Over the years Chris has developed a great interest and expertise in binoculars for birders and owns and operates Bargain Binoculars.  A combination of the recent manufacturing boom in China, and the very real technological advancements in binoculars, during the last 20 years, has made it possible for Chris to province you with superb quality optics at an affordable price.  All the binoculars are light weight yet sturdy magnesium alloy chassis, and all are 10 power, roof prism binoculars.
